This hotel is recommended. Our 'executive room' was large, well equipped and comfortably furnished and very well presented. The staff are all friendly and respond cheerfully to any requests. The food in the bar and grill was very good quality and reasonably priced with good service. Although the hotel is sited in what is effectively an industrial estate, it is very conveniently positioned on the A303. For first-time visitors this makes it very easy to find, and when they do, free car parking is plentiful right outside the hotel.
good value staff friendly and helpful fab breakfast room clean and comfy

I arrived at 9am yesterday morning absolutely soaked to the skin after having to bale out of day 2 of my bicycle tour.. I was given a room immediately instead of the norm of waiting until the 1pm check in. I was also given breakfast on arrival too. Absolutely couldn't do enough for me. Fab stay and at such a reasonable price for a single room (£51 including breakfast the following day!). The only thing I would advise is MIND YOUR HEAD if you have room 27.. I stupidly hit my head 4 times on the low door arch - more me than the hotel..! I would definitely go stay with them if you need accommodation in the area..
An old coaching inn that has accommodation and a bar and restaurant. Free parking and wifi. Accommodation is satisfactory, and was quiet even though it was a Saturday night. The room had been refurbished since our last stay so the carpet and wallpaper was no longer worn in the bedroom, however the hallway still needs refurbishment and there was a large stain on the ceiling of the bedroom (plaster needs repairing no doubt from a bad roof leak). Staff were friendly and helpful. Sheets and room were clean. Bed bases showed some paint splashes from renovations, and could have looked better with some kind of covering, such as a valance. Summer being hot this year, an electric fan was welcome, but we also slept with the windows open as well. These measures did not quite do the trick of cooling things down. A bigger fan would have helped. Television colour was weird - either someone has played with the settings, or the TV needs repair.

Very difficult to find the sign post is small and hidden. Its just off the roundabout therefore you are busy trying to concentrate on the traffic. Please put large signs up advertise you are here!. Also when I asked at reception for a hairdryer they said they had all been loaned out . Why can't you supply fixed hairdryers in the rooms it is a basic amenity not a luxury!
Great little hotel.has no bar or restaurant but very reasonable prices rooms

Lovely B&B at the heart of Amesbury. I stayed on the ground floor B&B room for two nights. The room was very clean and had very two quite nights to sleep well before travelling again. The restaurant is lovely, the menu for breakfast has varieties of dishes to choose. I tried full breakfast and the omelette. They were all delicious. Very you very much for the service. Highly recommended for visitors to stay at this B&B
The Fairlawn House was great. The breakfast portions are huge and delicious. The bed was comfortable and we slept great. Quaint little place in a quaint little town.

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!
